RMP Products was a major contributor to the 3,800 tonnes of structural steelwork used to build the Belvedere Jetty project on the Thames, London.
This structure – one of the largest to be built on the Thames for years – is 270m long and 14m wide, and incorporates a 115m x 10m supporting bridge and two Goliath jetty cranes.
Belvedere Jetty was constructed as part of the drive to meet the demands of the EU landfill directive by strengthening the capital’s transport and waste treatment infrastructure.
It provides access to the recycling plant and reduces traffic congestion by enabling the delivery of all but 85,000 tonnes of waste a year by barge, keeping an estimated 100,000 HGVs off London’s roads.
