Project:

JCB were looking for a way to manufacture side plates for their telehandler machine that had multiple operations and that were 5 meters long and 1.5 metres wide. Traditionally they would cut on a plasma machine. Transport to a large machining centre to do the machining and hand chamfer the weld prep in the holes which is both costly and slow.

Solution:

We successfully trialled manufacturing in full in one process on our Gemini machine. The parent plates goes onto the cutting bed where we machine and tap all the holes and then plasma cut the external shape and chamfer the large hole so the parts come off finished with no other operations needed reducing costs and lead times which we supported them Day and night for over twelve months.

Results:

The customer is delighted with the quality, lead times and price. Using R.M.P Products allows them to keep up with current demands meaning they can become a world leader in this product.
